Karachi is experiencing a persistent cold wave, with dry and chilly conditions expected to continue over the next 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has forecast that the city’s minimum temperature may fall to 9°C, while the maximum temperature is likely to reach 23°C.

Today, Karachi recorded a minimum temperature of 12.8°C, with humidity levels at 47%. Easterly winds are blowing at a speed of 8 km/h, adding to the cold weather.

Rain and cold winds have intensified across various parts of the country, bringing wet conditions and a noticeable drop in temperature. Lahore, Narowal, Okara, Sharaqpur Sharif, and Haveli Lakha have reported rainfall, while Rawalpindi and surrounding areas are expected to experience continued rain starting tonight.

A weather system currently active over the northern regions is causing widespread rainfall and snowfall. The Meteorological Department has forecasted rain and snowfall over Murree, Galyat, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Chakwal, and Attock in the next few hours.

Rain is also expected in Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, and Kasur, with clouds bringing intermittent showers to Sheikhupura, Gujrat, Sargodha, Bhakkar, and Mianwali. Gujranwala may also see intermittent rainfall in some areas.

In the northern mountainous regions, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, and Kohistan are likely to experience rain and snowfall, while further snowfall is expected in the upper regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Other areas, including Sawabi, Malakand, Mardan, Kohat, Kurram, and Khyber, are also expected to see rain and snow. Intermittent rain and snowfall are forecasted in Hangu, Bajaur, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, and Waziristan.

In Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, and Rawalakot will witness rain and snowfall, with Garhi Dupatta, Kotli, and surrounding areas experiencing intermittent showers and mountain snowfall. Gilgit-Baltistan will see scattered rain in Gilgit, Astore, Gopis, Bunji, and Chilas.

The Meteorological Department has advised the public, especially tourists, to exercise caution during rainfall and snowfall and avoid unnecessary travel due to slippery roads and potential hazards.
