    Key Highlights:

Pakistan participates in Board of Peace: At the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos, Pakistan joined the Board of Peace on the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump, aiming to establish lasting peace in Gaza.

Focus on Gaza reconstruction: The Board of Peace seeks a permanent ceasefire, resolution of the humanitarian crisis, and comprehensive reconstruction in Gaza in line with UN Security Council resolutions.

Rebuilding infrastructure: Plans include rehabilitation of homes, hospitals, schools, water and electricity systems, revival of economic activities, and ensuring a dignified life for the Palestinian people.

Collaborative effort: Pakistan joins Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, UAE, Indonesia, Bahrain, Morocco, Argentina, Hungary, and the United States in this initiative.

Ensuring Palestinian rights: The active presence of Muslim countries guarantees that Palestinian rights, self-determination, and national identity remain central.

Pakistan’s consistent stance: Pakistan reaffirms its support for an independent Palestinian state within 1967 borders, with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital, opposing occupation and collective punishment.

Acknowledgment from Palestinian leadership: Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa greeted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the forum, thanking Pakistan for its continuous support for peace in Gaza and advocacy for Palestinian rights.

Diplomatic engagement: During the signing ceremony, PM Shehbaz Sharif exchanged cordial words with President Trump, who acknowledged Pakistan’s leadership and coordination at the global stage, highlighting the country’s growing diplomatic recognition.

“Meanwhile, U.S. President acknowledged and praised Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir with a thumbs-up gesture.”

Non-military role: Participation in the Board does not imply automatic involvement in military missions or stabilization forces. Pakistan maintains a clear, independent stance on peacekeeping.

Principled diplomacy: Pakistan continues to avoid bloc politics, emphasizing balance, principled engagement, and effective diplomacy, taking an active role rather than remaining silent on the Palestinian issue.
