A$AP Rocky disses Drake in ‘Don’t Be Dumb’

A$AP Rocky’s new album Don’t Be Dumb is sparking conversation, and controversy, with a standout track that many listeners believe targets Drake.

The song Stole Ya Flow, released Jan. 16 as part of the Harlem rapper’s first full project in eight years, includes lyrics that fans and commentators widely interpret as a jab at the Toronto artist and his past work.

Given Drake’s long public connection to Rihanna, who is now A$AP Rocky’s partner and the mother of his children, the track is igniting beef rumours.

In the chorus of Stole Ya Flow, Rocky raps, “First you stole my flow, so I stole yo’ bitch,” a line that many fans connected directly to Drake and his previous relationship with Rihanna.

Other bars appear to call out someone, seemingly Halsey, for copying styles or reputations.

“I can’t trust a soul, just my pole and my kids / Swear to never lie, cross my heart, hope to die, uh / Then I sold the switch, then I hit it with a kiss, mwah.”

Later in the song A$AP Rocky adds, “Now I’m a father, my bitch badder than my toddler / My baby mama Rihanna, so we unbothered.”

The star didn’t shy away from the speculation in a recent interview on The New York Times’ Popcast, where he was asked whether Drake was the target of the song.

While he stopped short of naming him directly, Rocky suggested the inspiration was clear, saying, “I think we all know,” and later reflected on how once-close connections can sour when “people who started out as friends became foes.”

The rapper has also offered broader insight into the dynamics behind the track.

He hinted that fallout between artists can stem from envy or misunderstandings rather than outright conflict, and he indicated there’s no need for reconciliation simply for its own sake.

While some listeners take Stole Ya Flow as a direct response to Drake’s perceived borrowing of creative elements, Rocky maintains that the song’s message can resonate more widely.

In the Popcast interview, he said Don’t Be Dumb isn’t exclusively about one person, adding that the lyrics are “for whoever feel like it’s about them.”

Whether fans see the line as a specific diss or a broader commentary on rivalry and influence in hip-hop, Don’t Be Dumb’s release has reignited interest in the long-running tensions between the two high-profile artists.

As discussions continue online and in music circles, no public response has yet come from Drake, leaving the conversation squarely in the hands of listeners dissecting Rocky’s latest work.
