Pooh Shiesty quashes re-arrest rumors amid social media frenzy

Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty ignited widespread alarm this week after a brief segment during a livestream triggered speculation that he had been taken back into custody.

The confusion erupted when Shiesty’s close confidant, BenDaDon, appeared on the livestream, and a fleeting phone exchange was misconstrued, prompting fans to assume the rapper had returned to prison. The rumours rapidly proliferated across social media, leaving his fanbase anxious and unsettled.

Shiesty’s record label promptly debunked the misinformation, asserting that the rapper remains free. DJ Akademiks subsequently shared a statement from Shiesty’s representatives, emphasizing that there has been no alteration to his legal status.

According to the label, Pooh Shiesty is presently serving the culminating phase of his sentence under home confinement, which is set to continue until April 2026.

He is officially registered with RRM Dallas, a residential facility supervising halfway houses and home confinement programs a procedural designation that does not indicate incarceration.

Born Lontrell Denell Williams Jr., Shiesty was arrested in 2021 and pleaded guilty to a federal firearms conspiracy charge.

He served a portion of his sentence in federal prison before being released early on October 6, 2025, transitioning into home confinement.

Since then, he has maintained a low-profile compliance, fulfilling all conditions of his supervised release while navigating the final stretch of his sentence.

The recent frenzy was further amplified by scrutiny of Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) records, which indicated Shiesty’s projected release date as April 11, 2026.

Fans misinterpreted the data as evidence of a new arrest. DJ Akademiks, who initially shared the screenshots, later clarified that his intention was to provide factual clarity rather than to mislead the public.

Shiesty’s legal history is extensive and involves multiple arrests primarily connected to firearms-related incidents and violent altercations.

His first notable case occurred in July 2020 at a Memphis gas station shooting. In October 2020, he was implicated in a Bay Harbour Islands shooting and robbery, and in May 2021, he allegedly discharged a firearm at a security guard during a dispute over cash at Miami’s King of Diamonds strip club.

Investigators corroborated his involvement through forensic social media evidence, including photos of cash and personal belongings consistent with the crime scene.

Despite the social media hysteria, Shiesty’s legal circumstances remain unaltered. He continues to serve the final stage of his sentence under home confinement, and his anticipated release in April 2026 remains on track. Fans can rest assured: the Memphis rapper is not back behind bars.
