Samsung is preparing to unveil its next flagship, the Galaxy S26 series, at a Galaxy Unpacked event in February 2026.

While the reveal will showcase the new features and design, eager fans may have to wait until March to get their hands on the devices.

The lineup has seen some strategic changes. The previously rumored Galaxy S26 Edge has been canceled, while the Galaxy S26+ returns, slightly shifting the launch timeline compared to the Galaxy S25, which launched in January 2025.

The Galaxy S26 series is expected to deliver a premium and refined look, emphasizing sturdiness and elegance. Although the overall thickness may not change drastically, the camera module is rumored to be redesigned for a sleeker profile.

The Ultra variant is likely to introduce new color options such as orange, silver, gold, and gray, keeping the series modern and stylish.

Samsung’s display technology remains a highlight. The Galaxy S26 may feature a 6.1-inch AMOLED screen, while the S26+ could boast a 6.7-inch display. Both models are expected to offer vivid colors, sharp clarity, wide viewing angles, and 120Hz refresh rates.

The Ultra may debut a Flex Magic Pixel privacy display, allowing users to keep their screen content hidden from onlookers.

Battery improvements are modest but meaningful. The Galaxy S26 may include a 4,300mAh battery, slightly larger than the S25’s 4,000mAh, while wireless charging is upgraded to 20W.

Major battery innovations like silicon-carbon or stacked batteries are reportedly not part of this series, with more advanced charging likely reserved for the Ultra variant.

The Galaxy S26 series will run One UI 8.5 on Android 16, delivering a polished experience. AI features via Perplexity AI may also be integrated. Performance will be powered by either Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or Exynos 2600, depending on the region.

RAM is expected to remain at 12GB, ensuring smooth multitasking and gaming. The devices will support Qualcomm X85 modem for efficient and fast 5G connectivity.

If you are using an older Samsung model, the Galaxy S26 especially the Ultra variant offers meaningful upgrades in battery, camera, and performance, making it worth the wait.

However, current Galaxy S25 users may not notice drastic changes, suggesting they can hold off on upgrading immediately.

Samsung is reserving the most advanced features for the Ultra variant, making the wait until March worthwhile for enthusiasts seeking a premium flagship experience.
