Islamabad: Iran’s National Security Adviser Dr. Ali Larijani concluded a key two-day visit to Pakistan, carrying a special message of goodwill from Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei for the people of Pakistan.

Dr. Larijani publicly conveyed the Supreme Leader’s sentiments through his official social media account, thanking Pakistan for its “responsible” support for Iran during what he called the “recent unjust war imposed by the Zionist regime.”

    .@Ur_Khamenei:
پاکستان کے باوقار اور ذمہ دار عوام کو میرا سلام پہنچے۔

In his post, he wrote: “I convey the greetings of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei to the honorable people of Pakistan — a nation that, in the recent unjust war waged by the Zionist regime against Iran, responsibly stood in Iran’s defense. This reflects the firm and principled thinking of the Pakistani people. We extend our gratitude to the government, the parliament, and the armed forces of Pakistan.”

The Iranian security chief emphasized that Pakistan’s stance reflects a “strong, principled, and realistic mindset” regarding regional developments. Tehran, he said, “deeply values” Pakistan’s position and solidarity.

Larijani’s visit is being viewed as a significant diplomatic step toward bolstering bilateral cooperation. He was warmly received by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and held meetings with key Pakistani leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, and senior members of the security establishment.

Today, he is expected to meet Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir and Pakistan’s National Security Adviser and ISI chief Lt Gen Asim Malik.

The discussions are centered on advancing pending agreements, reviewing bilateral ties, and assessing evolving regional dynamics — particularly those affecting the Muslim world.

Regional shifts and Gaza plan cast backdrop:

Speaking to reporters upon arrival, Dr. Larijani remarked that “changing conditions of the region necessitate enhanced cooperation across multiple fields,” calling Pakistan a country with a “privileged position” in shaping regional security.

The visit comes as Iran voices concerns over US President Donald Trump’s Gaza stabilization plan, recently approved by the UN Security Council. The plan envisions deploying an international stabilisation force in Gaza — a proposal Tehran fears may cement long-term foreign military involvement.

Pakistan has supported the initiative and is being considered as a potential contributor to the force, a development that adds strategic weight to Larijani’s consultations in Islamabad.

During his visit, the Iranian official also met think tank leaders and regional security experts at Iran’s embassy in Islamabad, signaling Tehran’s intent to deepen dialogue on peace, security, and future cooperation.

As geopolitical alignments shift rapidly across the Middle East and South Asia, Islamabad and Tehran appear keen to recalibrate their engagement — setting the stage for closer coordination on security, diplomacy, and regional stability.
