ISLAMABAD: Outgoing Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister commended General Sahir Shamshad Mirza for his professional excellence, leadership, and services to the nation and the armed forces.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza is the 18th and last CJCSC, as the post will not be filled after his retirement on 27 November 2025, following the constitutional 27th Amendment, which abolished the position.

Pakistan’s first Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee was General Muhammad Sharif, appointed by then–Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on March 1, 1976.
