DUBAI: Dubai Airport has begun installing state-of-the-art 3D AI scanners to make security checks faster and easier for passengers.
Powered by artificial intelligence, the new scanners will screen luggage within seconds, allowing travellers to clear security checks in minimal time.
According to officials, passengers will no longer need to remove laptops, perfumes, water bottles, or other liquids during screening.
The airport administration said the project will be completed by the end of 2026, expressing confidence that the initiative will make journeys smarter and more seamless for all passengers.
Meanwhile, Dubai Airports has also completed extensive arrangements to assist passengers with hearing impairments.
Over 520 state-of-the-art hearing loops have been installed across all three terminals at Dubai International Airport (DXB), allowing travellers to easily follow announcements without difficulty.
The hearing loops are available at key locations, including check-in counters, immigration desks, boarding gates, and information desks. The system works automatically, requiring no additional devices or pairing from passengers.
Officials confirmed that frontline airport staff received dedicated training to help passengers with hearing difficulties, ensuring smooth assistance throughout their journey.
In 2024, DXB also introduced a ‘Stress Relief Area’ specifically designed for passengers with disabilities. The area is wheelchair-friendly and caters to the needs of travellers with autism, visual impairments, and hearing challenges.
