Celebrities can too face beauty struggles. Lizzo, for example, shared her ordeal where she lost a toenail.
On comedian Ziwe’s YouTube interview series, the Pink singer looked back at how losing the toenail and its full regrowth after a year led her to wear closed-toe shoes.
It started with the host’s question, “Should body positivity stop at the feet? Have you seen your WikiFeet account?”
The Boys hitmaker replied “I have precious little piggies. I have a video right now that will blow your ******* socks off.”
“When I took this video, I was going to use it for something great, and it’s just in my phone right now. This is the moment,” she said.
But soon after the video, Lizzo recalled, “I knew that I had a celebrity foot rating and it was quite high and then my toenail fell off.”
But the regrowing of the toenail was something quite fascinating, Lizzo said.
“I wasn’t able to wear open-toe shoes for a year and it was like a turtle shell,” she revealed. “There was like another toenail growing underneath. The human body is incredible. I had to grow that **** back.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the Grammy winner shared that the toenail issue also had an impact on her outfit at the 2023 Met Gala.
“Closed-toe shoes at the ***** Met Gala. It was disgusting,” the 37-year-old recounted, noting, “But now that my toenail is back, *****…oh, we’re on and popping. My pretty little piggies!”
However, Lizzo’s latest appearance at the 2025 Met Gala was hassle-free. Christian Siriano designed her fitted corset dress.
