Bravo’s Real Housewives universe is expanding again, this time to the smallest U.S. state.
Andy Cohen has confirmed that The Real Housewives of Rhode Island is officially in the works, and he promises the show will surprise viewers.
Cohen told Page Six after the announcement, “The cast is incredible. They are very Italian. Rhode Island is such a small state, and they all kind of know each other and overlap. It’s an incredible group of women who have really interesting connections.”
Moreover, Cohen added that the new series bears some resemblance to the early days of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, particularly in its tight-knit Italian American community and long-standing family ties.
In regards to this, he said, “It does kind of remind you of early ‘Jersey’ in a weird way.”
Moreover, the announcement, part of Bravo’s 2025 content slate revealed on May 7, describes the RHORI cast as “a tight-knit circle of Rhode Islanders who have deep community roots and families that go back generations.”
With long-running friendships, strong personalities, and overlapping histories, the show promises drama, depth, and plenty of Italian flair.
Bravo also revealed other projects in the pipeline, including Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition, a Ladies of London reboot, and The Valley: Persian Style, a spinoff of Shahs of Sunset.
Furthermore, Cohen noted that casting protocols have become more rigorous over the years.
Additionally, he said, while referencing the infamous 2015 legal troubles of Teresa and Joe Giudice, “When we started Jersey, nobody had [done] anything illegal. As the show has evolved, the diligence has evolved.”
The Real Housewives of Rhode Island is expected to premiere in 2025.
