Paul Feig, the director of Another Simple Favor, is standing with Blake Lively amid her legal battle with Justin Baldoni.
While having a conversation with Esquire, the 62-year-old American film director extended his support to the 37-year-old Hollywood actress and called her “an amazing collaborator.”
Articulating his thoughts, Feig quipped, “When I read people’s misconceptions about how movies are made, it’s just frustrating for me. Every star I’ve worked with works this way. The idea that a star just shows up and you go, ‘Here’s the script’ – please point me to one movie star who works that way.”
He added, “So when the gang on the internet get [up in arms] about something, it’s just like, guys, you don’t know what you’re talking about. I love working with Blake – she’s just the best.”
The 4x Emmy nominee went on to note that the “outrage is the most boring emotion humans have these days. When it’s towards something meaningful, that’s great. But people get outraged at everything. It’s like, this is what you’re angry about? There’s other things to be outraged about – please, go and help make the world a better place.” (sic)
Lively, who acted in Another Simple Favor as Emily Nelson, also shed light on her past year and revealed that she went through “the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in my life.”
For the unversed, the Gossip Girl actress filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, her It Ends with Us co-star and director, for launching a retaliatory smear campaign against her after she accused him of s***** harassment and workplace safety concerns.
Notably, Baldoni also filed a countersuit against Lively in December 2024, accusing her of defamation and other contractual claims.
In his countersuit, the 41-year-old Hollywood actor and director also included her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and other defendants for $400 million. Since then, both parties have been accusing each other and filing more lawsuits.
It is pertinent to mention that a trial is scheduled for March 9, 2026.
