Facebook introduces simplest way for users to make money online

Meta has launched a new monetisation feature on Facebook, enabling creators to earn from public story views, the company announced.

The feature is available to creators already enrolled in Facebook’s content monetisation programme and allows them to generate revenue from existing content.

“For example, if a user posts a cooking tutorial or reel and shares part of it as a story, they can now earn money from story views,” Meta explained.

Creators can also monetise everyday content they share via stories, with earnings based on performance rather than a fixed view count, according to a Meta spokesperson.

This initiative aims to encourage content creation on Facebook. Eligible creators will automatically benefit from the update, while others can express interest through Facebook’s monetisation website as the programme expands later this year.
