    • Digital platforms to drive 66% of travel sales.
    • Domestic tourism rising amid better infrastructure.
    • ‘Package Holidays’ market projected to hit $1.92bn.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s travel and tourism market is expected to generate over $4 billion in revenue by 2025, The News reported, citing Statista Travel and Tourism Pakistan report.

The industry is projected to grow at an annual rate of 6.75% from 2025 to 2029, potentially reaching a market volume of $5.53 billion by the end of the forecast period.

The report highlights ‘Package Holidays’ as the dominant segment within the market, with an estimated revenue of $1.92 billion in 2025. The number of users in this category is expected to rise to 22.17 million by 2029, with user penetration increasing from 11.3% in 2025 to 14.6% by 2029.

Moreover, the average revenue per user (ARPU) is expected to be $150.66. Pakistan’s travel and tourism market is also estimated to generate 66% of total revenue through online sales by 2029.

Pakistan’s travel and tourism industry is growing rapidly, with an increase in domestic and international tourists exploring the country’s cultural and natural attractions.

One notable trend in the Pakistani travel and tourism market is the rise of domestic tourism, with more locals choosing to explore their own country. This trend can be attributed to improved infrastructure, increased disposable incomes and a desire to support the local economy.

Additionally, the digital revolution has made travel planning more accessible, with online booking platforms and social media influencing travel decisions.

According to Statista, the growth of the travel & tourism market in Pakistan can be attributed to several macroeconomic factors, including government initiatives to promote tourism, infrastructure development projects, and increased international connectivity through new flight routes.

Additionally, a stable political environment and improved security measures have helped boost confidence among travelers, both domestic and international, leading to a positive impact on the tourism industry.
