Jared Leto has quietly sold his sprawling Los Angeles mansion, a former U.S. Air Force compound with a history tied to the country’s atomic bomb program, for $12 million, according to TMZ.

The actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman sold the 14,649-square-foot property in May, a decade after purchasing it for $5 million in 2015, netting him an estimated $7 million profit before taxes and fees.

The six-bedroom, five-bathroom estate sits on roughly 1.4 acres and carries an unusual history, it previously served as a U.S. Air Force installation and was used during the Cold War to shoot Army training films and Air Force newsreels featuring stars including Bob Hope, Jimmy Stewart, James Garner, Kim Novak and Gregory Peck.

The property retains physical traces of its military past, including thick concrete walls and blast-resistant doors originally designed to protect classified government material.

Leto had converted the compound into both a private residence and a working creative headquarters, complete with three 35-millimeter screening rooms, temperature-controlled film vaults and a full soundstage for himself and his band.

The sale’s timing has drawn attention given events that followed it.

Roughly two months after the transaction closed, the BBC released an investigative documentary titled Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Darkest Secret, in which ten women came forward with allegations against the actor, including four who described incidents occurring when they were teenagers.

The BBC said it corroborated several accounts through friends and family and reported reviewing photographs and messages supporting the women’s claims.

Leto has strongly denied all of the allegations, telling Variety in a statement, “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false.”

The documentary followed an earlier 2025 report from Air Mail in which DJ Allie Teilz and other women raised similar claims.

Leto has kept a notably lower public profile in recent months, including sitting out promotion for Masters of the Universe.
