Lil Nas X has shared the heartbreaking news that his mother, Tameka Hill, has died.
The 27-year-old rapper announced her death on Instagram with a series of photos.
He wrote, “RIP TO THE BADDEST EVER! LOVE U FOREVER, MOMMY (sic)”
In another message, he simply added, “This one’s gonna hurt. (sic)”
Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Hill, did not share any details about his mother’s death.
The news is especially emotional because the rapper previously talked honestly about their difficult relationship.
In 2020, he revealed that his mother struggled with addiction and that they were not always close.
However, he made it clear that there was still love between them.
“I never really talk about my mom. She’s an addict, so we don’t have the closest relationship,” he earlier said. “But there’s still love.”
The rapper has faced some difficult moments in recent years and also opened openly about his personal struggles.
Despite everything, the Call Me by Your Name hitmaker recently said he was in a much better place and was enjoying life again.
