KATSEYE just can’t seem to catch a break.
After two of their five members announced a hiatus this year, the beloved girl group has now pulled out of Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival set for Saturday, August 29, at Great Park in Irvine, California.
KATSEYE announced the news in an Instagram Stories post shared just two days before the event, explaining that one of the three remaining members, Megan, has sprained her ankle.
“We’re so incredibly sorry to share that we are unable to perform at Daisy Chain Fields this Saturday,” the group wrote. “Megan sprained her ankle yesterday during tour rehearsal and after being evaluated by doctors, she has been advised to stay off it and allow it to properly heal so we can be ready for our upcoming tour.”
KATSEYE acknowledged that “fans were looking forward to seeing” them perform and noted that “it breaks our hearts to disappoint anyone who made plans to be there.”
“We were especially excited for Daisy Chain Fields because it’s not just about music, but the greater mission of joy and community,” the statement continued. “We’re sending all our love to Olivia and to all of the incredible artists, non-profit organizations and volunteers who have given their time to make this day so special. It’s going to be such an amazing day, and we can’t wait to see everyone on tour,” the message concluded.
In place of KATSEYE, singer-songwriter Devon Again will perform at Daisy Chain Fields.
The announcement comes after Manon took a break from the group in February to focus on her mental health. Then, in early August, Sophia revealed that she, too, would be stepping back for the same reasons.
