Harry Styles finds concerts to be one of the saving graces for human connection at a time when the world is turning more and more to online spaces.
The 32-year-old British musician is currently on his Together, Together tour and he reflected on the bonds he forms while performing live, in a new interview.
The One Direction alum considers the feeling of community to be one of the most important feelings at concerts. He said, “Post-Covid, and now in this AI time, there’s something about standing next to a sweaty stranger and exchanging energy that you can’t really replace with anything,” in conversation with W Magazine.
After the interview came out, fans flocked to social media and wrote, “this is really well said. there’s a specific kind of connection with the entire arena around you when it comes to concerts.”
Another added, “Exactly. That raw, shared energy is something no algorithm or virtual space can replicate.”
While a third chimed in, “There’s still something irreplaceable about standing next to a stranger and feeling the same energy — no screen, no algorithm, just the room.”
More noted, “He’s right. AI may replace our jobs, but it’ll never replace a six-foot stranger standing directly in front of you after you paid $300 for the view,” and “and he’s 100% correct.”
