PESHAWAR: Four judges were sworn in as permanent members of the Peshawar High Court on Monday, with Chief Justice S.M. Attique Shah administering the oath.

Justice Farah Jamshed, Justice Sabitullah, Justice Inamullah Khan and Justice Aurangzeb Khan took their oaths during a ceremony at the high court.

The event was attended by judicial officers, Advocate General Shah Faisal Utmankhel, Additional Attorney General Sanaullah, High Court Bar President Amin-ur-Rehman Yousafzai, members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council and other lawyers.

The four justices had previously served as additional judges before their confirmations were approved by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan.

Justice Farah Jamshed, who previously served as the first female director general of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy, has emphasized the role of mediation in the justice system. Justice Inamullah Khan and Justice Sabitullah Khan also bring extensive judicial experience to their new roles.

The swearing-in brings the high court closer to its full sanctioned strength, with the chief justice having previously emphasized the importance of modernizing the justice system to ensure speedy and accessible justice for citizens.
