Tyra Banks and Netflix face off over controversial docuseries

Netflix is fighting back against Tyra Banks after the supermodel sued the company over the way they showed her in its documentary about America’s Next Top Model.

Banks filed the lawsuit in June, saying the three part series gave viewers the wrong idea about her time on the popular reality show.

She claimed the filmmakers used only 16 minutes from her three and a half hour interview and left out important parts of what she said.

Banks, however, also added that the documentary made it look like she allowed a contestant’s painful experience to be used for the show and later could not remember what happened.

Netflix strongly disagrees as the company asked the court to dismiss the lawsuit, saying Banks simply does not like the way the documentary was put together.

Netflix also pointed to a part of the series where Banks talks about remembering Shandi Sullivan’s story.

The company went on to share that this proves the documentary did not suggest that Banks completely forgotten what happened.

Banks earlier agreed to take part because she wanted to talk honestly about the show, including some of the criticism it has received over the years.

Netflix said the filmmakers gave her a fair chance to share her side and that her comments were shown along with other people’s views.

Banks is now seeking money for what she says is damage to her reputation and businesses.
