RAWALPINDI: Eighteen terrorists affiliated with Fitna Al Hindustan were killed in separate incidents in Balochistan after a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated prematurely while militants were preparing it.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the VBIED exploded on the morning of Aug. 12 in Surab district, killing eight terrorists and injuring several others.
The blast, followed by the detonation of other explosives stored at the site, also caused the deaths of three nearby civilians, the ISPR said.
Security forces and Balochistan Police immediately reached the area and launched a joint clearance operation to track down the militants and their facilitators.
During the operation, security forces detected the movement of fleeing terrorists and engaged them, killing 10 more, bringing the total number of militants killed in the incidents to 18.
Two soldiers were also injured during an exchange of fire, according to the ISPR.
Sanitization operations are continuing in the area to eliminate any remaining militants.
The ISPR said security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue counterterrorism operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative to eliminate what it described as foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.

Earlier, Security forces killed five terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in Panjgur district of Balochistan, the military’s media wing said.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted in Panjgur on August 10, 2026, against terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan.
The ISPR said the operation aimed to eliminate proxies allegedly operating with Indian support and establish lasting peace in the area.
