Jennie, IVE help turn ‘Lingerie Makeup’ into new beauty trend

Korean beauty fans and makeup artists are turning to a new, barely look called “lingerie makeup” this year.

The trend started gaining traction in Seoul’s beauty scene in early 2026 and has since spread through K-Pop fan communities and beauty tutorials worldwide.

Unlike bold, full coverage looks, this style aims to blend with the skin instead of hiding it. K-Pop idols like Jennie, the members of IVE and BabyMonster have helped push the look into the spotlight through stage appearances and social media posts.

The idea behind lingerie makeup is simple less product, more skin. Just like fine lingerie is meant to feel like nothing at all, this makeup style is built to disappear into the skin rather than sit on top of it.

Instead of thick foundation or bold color, artists use sheer, skin matching tones that let natural texture show through. The result is a soft, barely-there finish that still looks polished on camera.

Blackpink’s Jennie has been spotted wearing the look at recent public events, favoring soft, blended tones over sharp lines. Members of IVE have also worn versions of the style during promotions, pairing it with dewy skin and minimal color on the eyes and lips. BabyMonster, one of K-Pop’s newer groups, has picked up the trend as well, helping introduce it to a younger fan base online.

Beauty fans say the look feels more natural and easier to recreate than past K-beauty trends that relied on multiple steps. Because it uses fewer products, some shoppers also find it more budget friendly.

The trend marks a change from earlier styles like glass skin, which focused on a wet, shiny finish. Lingerie makeup keeps some of that same skin first thinking but softens the overall effect. Beauty writers say it reflects a broader move toward makeup that looks effortless rather than done up.

Industry watchers expect more K-Pop idols to adopt versions of the look as it grows. Beauty brands are already releasing sheer, skin tone products marketed around the trend. As more stars wear it on stage and on social media, lingerie makeup is likely to become one of the defining beauty looks tied to K-Pop this year.
