Guy Ritchie’s action thriller In The Grey, starring Henry Cavill, Jake Gyllenhaal and Eiza González, will arrive on Prime Video in the United Kingdom, giving UK audiences their first chance to watch the film after it skipped a theatrical release in the country.

The film follows a group of highly trained operatives who are assigned to recover a billion dollar fortune stolen by a powerful and dangerous leader. Their mission quickly becomes more complicated as they face unexpected challenges, hidden agendas and betrayal while trying to complete the high risk operation.

The movie was released in theaters across the United States on May 15, 2026, but distributors decided against a cinema release in the UK. Instead, the film will be available exclusively through streaming on Prime Video.

The thriller has received mixed reactions from critics since its release, it currently holds a 50% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 64 reviews, with critics divided over its entertainment value and storytelling.

Some reviewers praised the movie’s stylish direction and fast paced action, saying it reflects the crime thriller style that Ritchie is known for. The AU Review noted that while the film may not rank among the director’s strongest projects, it remains an enjoyable crime adventure with his trademark energy and style.

However, other critics were less impressed with the film’s humor, character development and overall execution. The New York Post described the movie as lacking strong personalities, arguing that the main characters did not make enough impact despite having moments of comedy.

Several reviews also pointed out that the film’s quick pace may have resulted from heavy editing. Critics said the rapid storytelling created weak transitions between scenes and left some parts of the plot feeling incomplete.

In The Grey marks another collaboration between Ritchie and a major Hollywood cast, combining action, crime and comedy elements. The film features Cavill as one of the leading characters, along with Gyllenhaal and González in key roles. UK audiences will be able to stream In The Grey on Prime Video from Sept. 9.
