Pakistan’s exports recorded a strong recovery in July 2026, rising more than 31% month over month to $2.94 billion, marking one of the biggest monthly increases in recent years.
According to official figures, exports also increased 9.5% year over year, reflecting continued resilience despite a challenging global trade environment.
Meanwhile, imports remained largely stable, declining 0.2% compared with June 2026.

The sharp increase in exports and stable import levels helped reduce Pakistan’s trade deficit by more than 15% month over month, indicating an improvement in the country’s external sector.
Officials said the latest trade figures reflect stronger export performance and the growing resilience of Pakistan’s productive sectors as macroeconomic stability continues to support economic growth.
The July performance also provides a positive start to fiscal year 2026-27 (FY27), reinforcing the country’s goal of achieving a more competitive, export-led and sustainable growth model.
Officials added that the improvement aligns with the priorities outlined in the FY27 federal budget, which focuses on boosting exports, improving competitiveness, reducing the cost of doing business and encouraging private sector-led economic growth.
