Under the revised policy, teaching hours from Monday to Friday will be extended by one hour.

KARACHI: The Sindh government has restored the Saturday holiday for all public and private schools across the province, reversing its earlier decision to keep schools open six days a week.

Under the revised policy, teaching hours from Monday to Friday will be extended by one hour to ensure academic activities continue without disruption despite the two-day weekend.

The provincial government said the decision was made as part of its austerity measures and to ensure the more efficient use of available resources.

According to the Sindh Education Department, all public and private educational institutions will now operate five days a week, from Monday through Friday, with the updated schedule taking immediate effect.

The move comes days after Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah had announced on social media that all government schools across the province would remain open on Saturdays under the previous policy.
