RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) at the headquarters of the National Disaster Management Authority on Tuesday to review the country’s disaster preparedness and coordinated response for the ongoing monsoon season.

During the visit, NDMA Chairman briefed the army chief on the operational capabilities of the NEOC and its technology-driven emergency response systems, including “Disaster Lens 2026,” which provides real-time monitoring of the monsoon situation and other multi-hazard risks across the country.

Field Marshal Munir praised the NDMA’s efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s national disaster management capacity and stressed the importance of preparedness, effective inter-agency coordination and rapid response to protect lives and critical infrastructure during emergencies.
