ISLAMABAD: Security forces have intensified intelligence-based operations in Balochistan, killing six suspected militants during a raid in the Khad Kocha area of Mastung district, according to security sources.
The sources said the operation was launched on the basis of intelligence reports and resulted in the deaths of six militants. Several other suspects were also arrested during the operation.
According to security sources, those taken into custody include an alleged facilitator as well as male and female suicide bombers. Authorities also claimed that multiple militant hideouts were destroyed during the operation.
Security forces recovered a large cache of weapons and ammunition from the suspected militant hideouts, the sources said.
Search and clearance operations remain underway, with security personnel maintaining a strong presence in the area. The operation follows recent militant attacks in the Khad Kocha area of Mastung.
Security sources said intelligence-based operations have been intensified and will continue until militant networks are dismantled and peace is restored in the region.
Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has praised security forces for carrying out a successful intelligence-based operation in the Khad Kocha area of Mastung, describing the action as commendable.
In a statement, Bugti said six suspected militants were killed during the operation, calling it a major success in the ongoing counterterrorism campaign.
He also said the arrest of several suspected militants marked another significant achievement for the security forces. According to the chief minister, those detained include an alleged facilitator as well as male and female suicide bombers.
Bugti said security forces destroyed multiple suspected militant hideouts during the operation and recovered a large cache of weapons and ammunition.

He reaffirmed the provincial government’s support for security forces, saying operations against militant groups would continue until lasting peace is restored in Balochistan.
